Game Preview: Gonzaga at Oregon State

Gonzaga heads to Gill Coliseum to face an Oregon State Beavers team that is 13-5 (3-2) and ranked 58th in the NET. The Beavers were picked to finish seventh in the WCC Preseason Poll, but they have exceeded expectations thanks, in large part, to the emergence of returning players and transfers and, most importantly, cohesion on both ends of the court.

The Beavers are ranked 51st in the nation for defensive effective field goal percentage (47%) and 30th in defensive three-point percentage (29.7%). They lead the WCC in effective field goal percentage on the offensive end (58.6%) and second in free throw rate, two-point and three-point percentage. Wayne Tinkle’s team averages 17.6 assists per game in WCC action, putting them in the 96th percentile nationally.
